The Fourth of July holiday is “halftime” – when we flip the calendar from June to July we’re officially in the second half of the year. For me, the break provided ample windshield and dock time to savor, assess and imagine. I’m 51 years old now… and I’m invigorated by what’s next. How about you?<\/p>\n

Life Reimagined<\/strong><\/p>\n

Two of my favorite authors have written deeply about preparing for the second half: the first is Bob Bufford, who wrote the book “Halftime,” – I recommended that book to you for last year’s summer reading. Today, I’m introducing you to Richard Leider, who recently completed a wonderful book called: Life Reimagined<\/a>, co-authored with Alan Webber.<\/p>\n

I’m happy to say Richard Leider is one of my mentors – he’s recognized as one of the “Top 5” most respected executive coaches by Forbes magazine… and he endorsed the What Really Works<\/strong><\/em> book Tim Schmidt and I wrote five years ago. He’s helping me learn how to make a significant impact on the world with our idea that “goodness pays.” He’s 20 years my senior, and very, very inspirational. He’s a great role model because he knows how to scale simple ideas across the masses. This book is a collaboration with the uber-powerful AARP organization. – The web site<\/a> is cool.<\/p>\n

If you think it’s not worth the read because you aren’t yet AARP age… I couldn’t help but think about how many “Life Reimagined” moments I had in my first half. It reminded me of Chapter 7 – How do your challenges fuel your growth? –<\/strong> in Good Leadership Today<\/a>. I have two adult kids who are searching for their own purpose in life: I think it’s a great read at any age.<\/p>\n

Good leaders make a habit of asking the “What’s next?” question in moments of pause.\u00a0 And they are willing to search for moments of life reimagined to plan for a strong second half.<\/p>\n
